No swamps for the swamp rat

Was politely but officially turned down for a position as a volunteer on the Ivory-billed Woodpecker search this winter. Hardly surprising considering the enormous pile of applicants they doubtless had. Still I was hoping that my years of swamping might have given me a better-than-average shot. Maybe I sould have told them my Yahoo ID?

They did send along links for information if I want to search on my own; I may think about doing this for a week sometime this winter. Just to see the place, if nothing else.
